1 October 2009Installing ZenCart on Hostgator

Looking to install ZenCart on your hostgator account? You will be pleased to know you can have it installed in a few easy steps.

Ok first things first, login to your cpanel.

Now scroll down the page until you see the following:

You will want to click on the “Fantastico De Luxe” link.

Then to the left under ecommerce you will see “ZenCart”.

Click on “ZenCart”.

Now you want to click on “New Installation”.

Once you do that you will be presented with the following screen.

Ok now you need to set things up by entering the following information:

1. Install on domain – select your domain name from the drop down list
2. Install in directory – for example: shop, or you can leave this blank to install in the main directory
3. Administrator username – enter your desired username. For example: admin
4. Password – enter your desired password
5. Site name – enter the name of your store (you can edit this later)
6. Admin e-mail – enter your email address

Once you have done all the above, click on “Install Zen Cart”

A  new screen will show letting you know that it is going to create the necessary MySQL database for the store.

Click on “Finish installation” to complete the install.

You have now installed ZenCart!

See, that wasn’t so bad now was it
